Cumberland Police Make Bust In School

CDS Arrest

The school resource officer responded to Allegany High for a report of a student in possession of CDS.  Upon their arrival they made contact with the Assistant Principal who advised that it was brought to her attention that a student smelled like marijuana when she was in the office.  The student was then searched by the Assistant Principal and a pack of Newport cigarettes were located in her purse.  Inside of the cigarette pack on the bottom a small amount of burnt marijuana was located.  The property was turned over to the officer and charges were filed against the juvenile for possession of marijuana and tobacco.  The student was released to a family member pending Juvenile Court.

 

District Court Arrest Warrant Served

Richard Alan Welsh                      Age: 46                       Pennsylvania Ave., Cumberland

Charges: Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Resist / Interfer w/arrest, Fail to Obey Lawful order

Welsh was taken for a Bond Hearing and held in the ACDC on a $7500 Bond.
