Rocky Gap Hosts Sheriff’s Association

January 10th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports that the winter meeting of the Maryand Sheriff's Association was held recently at the Rocky Gap Casino Resort.  If any of Maryland’s nearly two dozen sheriffs held the all-too-common misunderstanding that Western Maryland ends at the cities of Frederick or Hagerstown, the top county lawmen throughout the state now stand corrected. The sheriffs are very impressed with our area,” said Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson, who hosted the event that included a mix of training and educational classes and included presentations by the Office of the Attorney General and the State Ethics Commission. The group meets every month and it is not uncommon for Robertson and Garrett County Sheriff Rob Corley to carpool for a four-hour trip for meetings held throughout the state.
