Rocky Gap Slots Bid Expected Next Month

The hope is that three years of delays, failed bids and various roadblocks will come to an end next month and that a slot license is awarded for the Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort. It was more than three years ago that voters in Allegany County and across the state overwhelmingly approved legalizing slots at five locations. After two requests for proposals failed to generate a single qualifiedbidder- a third this past summer resulted in 2, however the Landow group’s was thrown out earlier this month. A group made up of three separate ventures and named the Evitts group is the remaining option on the table and the gaming commission is finalizing its background checks.
