For the second consecutive public meeting, the new Allegany County Board of Education faced sharp criticism from the public for a perceived lack of transparency. During a public session held late Friday afternoon Carmen Jackson, a one time school board candidate, blasted the board- specifically members Robert Farrell, David Bohn and Wayne Foote- for what she says is working outside of public view to advance a specific agenda. She said the appearance is that Farrell, Bohn and Foote are functioning as a three member board- making little or no effort to include or seek input from members Tammy Fraley and Deb Frank. She referenced the closed door decision made earlier this month to replace longtime board attorney Gary Hanna with the firm of Geppert, McMullen, Paye and Getty; as well as last minute business items being added or deleted from the public meeting agenda- days after it had already made available to the public

if those three cant work together with the other two board membersand treat them fairly and with respect on all boe decisions,and all business of the boe should be open to taxpayers who foot the bill for their decisions ,good or bad,when you have the same three people trying to manipulate everything in their favor,no good will come from actions like this!

> This problem was well evident before the election. Each of these men has a history that was well known, all have scores, real or imagined to settle. Given the history this area has of voting against their own interests, none of this is a surprise.
