Six Month Investigation Leads to Closure of Business

A six month investigation by federal, state and county law enforcement agencies culminated Wednesday night with the closure of Maximum Novelties in Cresaptown. The business is known to have been selling bath salts, K2 or spice- commonly referred to as synthetic marijuana. On Wednesday, there were indications that the proprietors were apparently attempting to burn some of the products- perhaps aware that police were closing in. Warrants were obtained, a search was conducted and the merchandise was ceased as evidence. The Narcotics Task Force, State Police, Sheriff’s Department and State’s Attorney were all involved in the investigation.  Sheriff Craig Robertson:
