March 18th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

According to Maryland State Police, a Swanton man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly threw a sledgehammer into the windshield of a moving vehicle. Troopers from the  McHenry barrack were in the area of East Alder and Second streets when they were advised of an assault that had just occurred. State Police investigation at the scene revealed that Joshua Robert Brown, 28, allegedly threw sledge hammer at the windshield of a vehicle being driven by Eric Franklin Lapp, 38, of Swanton. Lapp apparently was not injured. Brown was arrested for first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property. Brown was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where he was released later in the day after posting $7,500 bond set by a district court commissioner for his pre-trial release.
