As time wound down Monday in the 2015 session of the Maryland General Assembly- one of the victories for Allegany County was the inclusion of more than $1 million in the state’s capital budget for the Footer Dye Works project. The 90 session in Annapolis played out like a roller coaster for the Canal Place project. Governor Larry Hogan himself proclaimed at one point that there would be no room for funding any new projects in his capital budget- only to have the local delegation continue to lobby for at least a portion of the money needed for what have been described as critical infrastructure improvements for the aging building.
