It was back in October that a successful test of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's massive steam powered engine No. 1309 was conducted- and railroad superintendent John Garner is looking for a Fourth of July weekend launch. The Baldwin 2-6-6-2 steam locomotive has undergone a test of its coal-fired water boiler- and while some finishing touches are still being completed- Garner says it appears as though much of the puzzle is starting to fall in to place. While reluctant to provide an estimated startup in recent months- Garner tells WCBC News that a weekend July 4th run is scheduled….
