Town Hall Meeting on Immigration Turns to Shouting Match

Maryland’s lone Republican member of Congress, Representative Andy Harris had planned to conduct a town hall meeting on immigration last week- however it became a raucous shouting match at times with most of the focus on gun control. The meeting was organized to talk about immigration, but in the intervening time, the school massacre in Florida happened, with some wanting to confront the congressman about guns. Harris has taken a popular republican stance- emphasizing that it’s not the weapons that are the problem but rather more of a mental health issue. He said it was obvious early on during the meeting that many of those in attendance weren’t interested in a serious dialogue, but simply came to cause disruptions…
