Yesterday on a school bus on the way home from Allegany High School, a student was in possession of an airsoft pistol, which was passed around among several other students on the bus. The incident was reported to a School Resource Officer, who immediately began an investigation last night. The SRO along with other law enforcement officers were at Allegany first thing this morning to continue their investigation, which has resulted in four students being disciplined in accordance with the school system's policy on student discipline. Students and staff are not in any danger at the school, and there was no disruption to the instructional day. Parents of the students on the bus in which the incident occurred will be informed in a letter being sent home from the school today.
