Two Commissioners To Insist On Payback Agreement With State

Allegany County Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr agrees with his fellow commissioner Bill Valentine- and says he too will insist there is a payback agreement in writing with either the state or the local board of education pertaining to the new Allegany High School project. The county is being asked to front a portion of the funding for the project on behalf of the state- but there are no plans by the state to provide anything in writing. Valentine’s concerns are that the money will be reimbursed from the state to the school board- with no guarantee the board would return the money to the county.  Brodie says he backs Valentine on this as the county needs some protection…
