Whether or not to utilize an outside consultant in mapping out a more specific economic development strategy is the latest disagreement between Allegany County Chamber of Commerce Director Stu Czapski and the county commissioners. A minor rift, or philosophical difference, developed earlier this year when Czapski said that while there is a long range economic development plan in place- there is no real vision included. He has since suggested going to route of retaining the services of an outside consultant- a course of action that has been taken by numerous other counties. Czapski says having a different set of eyes- from outside the area- analyze the economic development potential couldn’t hurt…
