Vacation officially ends for ACPS teachers

Summer vacation for Allegany County Public School teachers ends today as educators are returning August  19th and -21st  and September. 2nd and  3rd  to prepare for the start of the school year. The Board of Education announced earlier this month that the 2020-2021 school year will begin virtually with distance learning set to start September 8th.  Interim Superintendent Jeff Blank said that educators have been participating in virtual sessions with representatives from Schoology in order to learn the platform’s basic features, including how to create virtual live classrooms, how to create assignments and assessments, and how to provide “offline” opportunities for students without reliable access to the Internet at home. That preparation will continue in the coming weeks…

    About time !!They’ve been in vacation since the Covid thing started.

      Wrong Jimmy. Teachers taught online from March through June. I was wondering when someone was going to slam the teachers.

    Since all this county cares about is football , space out desk and add plexiglass like the department stores did. Most buses are half empty , space out kids. Plenty of excuses why life can’t resume. All the new covid cases , does anyone ever report how many recover, no… only how many more have it.
