WCBC Talks To Andy Vick On Widmyer Resignation

September 24th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority Chairman Andy Vick, appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Friday morning said he believes the resignation of board member  Mark Widmyer over questions of ethical and financial issues is disappointing. Vick called Widmyer a friend and an excellent board member, and while he understands Widmyer’s concerns, he doesn’t believe anything unethical has been done by the Authority. His letter of resignation was somewhat vague, pointing to  “recent decisions made regarding (Executive Director) Dee Dee Ritchie and the financial issues surrounding her. Vick  says the fiscal issue centered around Ms Ritchie, due to an administrative error by the state, receiving an additional $2,600 in salary this year than she was supposed to receive. He says the Authority met with its attorney in closed session and decided to have Ritchie repay more than half of the overpay- while getting to keep the additional as a bonus for her excellent performance to date…
