We Are Fort Hill Committee Announces HOF Inductees

The We Are Fort Hill Committee has announced that Greg Hare, John S. Kretzler, and Dr. Susan Linda (Powell) Tasker-Weaver have been selected as this year’s Hall of Fame inductees. The committee will honor the trio at a recognition luncheon scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2019, at noon in the school’s media center. Tickets are available in the school’s main office.
Greg Hare graduated from Fort Hill in 1970 with a four-year football scholarship to Ohio State University. He played in the 1974 Rose Bowl game as co-captain and was honored and inducted into the Outstanding College Athletes of America. Greg graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Business Administration. In 1975 he was hired by the Xerox Corporation becoming a member of the Xerox Honor Council and was the #1 Sales Representative in the Eastern Region and #3 overall Sales Representative in America. In 1987 he started his own company, Document Solutions Inc., and his company employs 30 and donates to youth programs, churches, schools, and non-profit organizations. Hare continues to help local high school quarterbacks and coach football in youth leagues.
John S. Ketzner is a 1939 Fort Hill graduate and was an officer in the Army 8th Airforce during World War II. For service and valor he was awarded the Purple Heart, European Theatre Medal, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, and POW Medal, to name a few. Ketzner was awarded the rank of Chevalier (Knight) in the National Order of the Legion of Honor by France. With almost 45 years of service with the B&O/CSX corporation, he retired in 1983 as Assistant Vice President of Purchasing and Materials where he was instrumental in the computerization of CSX purchasing and inventory control. Mr. Ketzner is a member of the American Legion, VFW, Optimists, Moose and Eagles.
Dr. Tasker-Weaver graduated from Fort Hill in 1968 and began a career in nursing. She is a graduate of Allegany College of Maryland, University of Maryland UMBC, UMAB, and the University of Phoenix with a Doctor of Education degree. Dr. Tasker-Weaver has Certification for Clinical Specialist-Nurse Psychotherapist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and belongs to the Sigma Theta Tau/Nursing Honor Society. Her nursing experience includes direct patient care, nursing supervision, nursing education, and currently the Department Chair of Nursing for Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Dr. Tasker-Weaver is currently working on developing a fully online Master of Nursing program for Southeastern University with tracks in administration and education.
Nominations for the next year’s Hall of Fame are accepted until January 31, 2020. Nominees must have graduated from Fort Hill fifteen or more years ago and should be based on significant achievements in lifetime endeavors. Nomination forms are available at www.forthillhs.com.
