Westernport man sentenced on felony firearm charges

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, that Branden Lamar Wills, 28, of Westernport, Maryland, was sentenced on the charge of Possession of a Firearm after Felony Conviction and other related firearm offenses.  Mr. Wills was convicted of said charges after trial by jury on October 5, 2017.

Wills was sentenced to ten (10) years incarceration within the Department of Corrections, the first five years will be served on a minimum mandatory base, meaning he must serve that portion of his sentence day for day and will not be eligible for parole during this period of incarceration.

 

The case was prosecuted by Sam Lane, Assistant State’s Attorney.  Mr. Wills was represented by Robin Ficker, Esq.  The Honorable W. Timothy Finan, Judge of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, presided over the matter.
