WV COVID Update: Outbreaks continue in West Virginia Churches; Proms not on the horizon

June 17th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Churches and proms were among the topics covered by West Virginia Governor Jim Justice in his regular COVID-19 update Wednesday afternoon.  Churches reopened in the state in May 10th-  and since that time a half  dozen churches in communities across the state have reported outbreaks of Coronavirus. A Hamsphire County church was the first to report problems with eight members testing positive. The latest outbreaks has the governor urging those who choose to attend church to remain vigilant when it comes to the established health and safety guidelines. While  his office is still being inundated with questions about whether or not proms can be scheduled- Justice says that unfortunately large scale social events aren’t possible at this time.
