Fifty-six junior and senior high students at Allegany High School were inducted into the National Honor Society during a recent ceremony. With this induction, Allegany has 97 current honor society members in good standing. Principal Scott Bauer and Bryan Hansel, Allegany’s Teacher of the Year, addressed the students about scholarship, service, leadership, and character – the four pillars of the society. The National Honor Society was established in 1921. Allegany’s chapter was founded in 1954.
