Carl Anderton has been in his job as Maryland’s Director for Rural Economic Strategy for just a year, but he has seen positive improvement within the 16 counties he covers. He visits Western Maryland every 5 to 6 weeks, and tells WCBC there is forward motion in development…
“Just seeing everything kind of lift up, almost at the same time, not the same pace, but almost at the same time, in my opinion from what I’ve seen is that Western Maryland is really rising quickly.”
He says there is definitely a buzz around business growth in the region…
“Things that you hear that are coming, the opportunities that are being discussed. You may not win every opportunity that’s being discussed, but it’s an influx of opportunities that are being discussed in this region, and our goal is to win as many of those as we can.”
