The Maryland Department of Human Services is under scrutiny after a 16-year old girl in the state’s care was found dead in a hotel room in Baltimore. The teen was being housed there through the state’s foster care system. No cause of death has yet been determined. The DHS is already under fire for several recent audit findings questioning childcare within the human services system. House Minority Leader Jason Buckel told WBAL that questions need answered about supervision policies…
“When you think about how big our government is, how many bureaucrats we have in the state of Maryland, how many billions of dollars we spend, and we can’t keep a 16-year old girl housed in a situation that’s just normal and safe and isn’t living by herself in a hotel room.”
