Citizen Confronts Council Over Infestation

September 24th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

A Pennsylvania Avenue property is giving neighbors issues that were brought to Cumberland’s Mayor and City Council. Brandon Fisher, a resident next to 211-213 Penn Ave told council the property is infested with cockroaches and other insects and vermin spreading to nearby homes. Maryland’s state property search lists the property owner as Bob Turner of Midland. Fisher told the council he’s been asking for city assistance for some time…

“I’ve reported issues with this property for over two years including the cockroach issue and nothing was done. I’ve got gigabytes of photos and videos from the past two years. I have pages of documentation of call logs, the names of people I spoke with and the results which were not sufficient. I believe if the dwelling was not raided by the SWAT team, we would still be dealing with the tenants, 20+ dogs, and additional filth.”
