Wednesday, WCBC checked on rumors concerning downtown Cumberland’s surveillance system. Rumors abounded that it cost $3.2 million and was not working. WCBC talked to Matt Miller of Economic Development who said the system cost $240,000 and was purchased with grants. City police monitor thirteen units with 3 cameras each. Miller said one camera is not functioning properly but is being worked on. Mayor Ray Morriss said the city is considering adding more equipment…
“You know, we’re looking to expand it, but nowhere near $3.2 million dollars.”
