Commission for Women Honors Vicki Hoverman as Member of the Year

Allegany County Commission for Women proudly announced that Vicki Hoverman, Ph.D. was voted Member of the Year in December, recognizing her outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to advancing the mission of the Commission and strengthening community engagement throughout Allegany County. Currently serving as Treasurer for the Commission, Hoverman has played a pivotal role in modernizing and supporting its operations. Among her many contributions, she spearheaded the creation of the Commission’s online questionnaire for prospective applicants, streamlining the process for women interested in serving and expanding access to civic participation. Her initiative has helped ensure that the Commission continues to attract diverse, talented, and engaged members reflective of the community it serves.

Professionally, Vicki Hoverman, is a Senior Research Director at Ipsos, where she specializes in conducting social science research and survey methodologies. Her career includes prior work with Westat and Nielsen, as well as teaching at several community colleges and universities. She earned her doctorate, master’s degree, and bachelor’s degree all from George Mason University.

A resident of Allegany County since 2022, Hoverman lives in Cumberland with her husband, Andy, and their dogs, Daisy and Lily. In addition to her work with the Commission for Women, she serves on the Choose Civility Allegany County Steering Committee, , as the Scientific Committee Chair for the International Conference on Stigma at Howard University, and as a mentor for the Ipsos North America Mentorship Program.
