Allegany County Commissioner Bill Atkinson attended a meeting in Annapolis with Jake Weissmann, the state Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management to discuss recovery funds needed in Westernport, Lonaconing, Barton and Midland.  Atkinson says Weissmann was receptive and assured the governor’s full support for finding funds for damages caused by the May flood…

   

“The meeting went very well.  He was very receptive.  He understands the need.  He knows what’s going on.  He said the governor supports what we’re trying to do.  They are still trying to figure out how and what way they can come up with funding to help us offset some of the costs if not all of the costs for the 30-plus million for the flood relief.”
