Commission President Dave Caporale explained the decision by the Allegany County Commissioners to walk back a proposed property tax increase on WCBC’s Dave Norman program Monday. “We’re looking at every way that we could that would be the easiest path forward for the people out there. And we felt that was based on the numbers we were looking at, potentially for the disparity grant for next year, so we wanted to take that completely off the table in light of things. Assessments are going up; other things are going up. We didn’t need another thing going up.”
