The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has announced funding for 20 projects in Western Maryland counties.  $1.8 million dollars will go to projects in Garrett, Allegany and Washington counties to support redevelopment, business expansion, and other improvements. Cumberland is receiving funds to continue its Roof Replacement Program for low income single-family homes, Friendsville will be able to develop a small business incubator, and Cascade, Maryland will be redeveloping a warehouse into a boutique hotel.
