Comprehensive Plan Getting Update

July 15th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Every ten years, the State of Maryland wants cities across the state to take a look at their communities and update their Comprehensive Plan that guides public policy in a number of areas. For Cumberland, the time to look at the long-range plan is here and a public meeting with Jamie Kendrick of Wood Valley Strategies is planned for 6pm Monday July 28th at City Hall.  Ruth Davis-Rogers, the city’s historic planner tells WCBC public input is crucial to updating the plan. “We invite the public to come with their thoughts, their concerns, or ideas about how things could be improved upon in Cumberland or changes they think could happen or things that they like that they would like to see expanded upon. And so, we do need that input.”
