The Maryland Federal delegation and Governor Moore held a press conference at BWI Airport to discuss ongoing effects of the federal government shutdown. Air-Traffic Controllers at BWI are working without pay – some calling in sick – reducing staff and causing flight delays and cancellations. Democratic Congressman Johnny Olszewski, who has announced he will go without pay until the shutdown ends, said the situation goes beyond airports…
“The American people are suffering, too. Because they can’t get access to questions about their student loans, to questions about their social security and their veteran benefits. It’s wrong and we need to end the shutdown.”
