Federal Employees Get Extra Holidays

December 19th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Fox News is reporting that President Donald Trump is giving most federal employees two additional days off for Christmas, according to an executive order signed Thursday afternoon. Federal employees affected by the order will be able to stay home on both Dec. 24 and Dec. 26. For many, this effectively creates a five-day holiday break, including Christmas Day and the weekend.  This marks the first time in recent years that federal employees have received two extra days off around the holiday.
