Thursdays meeting of the Cumberland Downtown Development Commission had a discussion about discontinuing the Friday After Five event. While it has been hosted in the Historic City Center for several years, the new promotions marketing consultant McClarran & Williams as well as business owners said that it's no longer drawing the numbers of people it once did. Centre Street Business owner, Michael Harris said "We’re not drawing the people from Keyser, from Ridgeley, to come to see the bands that we’re getting. I think it would be better to do away with Friday After 5 and once a summer, bring in a good band that no one has here that is going to draw crowds from Keyser, from Hagerstown.”
