Frostburg State University has named Dr. Michael Mathias as College Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. Dr. Mathias most recently served as the dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Mathias has worked at Frostburg for 17 years as faculty and other senior-level administrative positions. As Provost, Mathias will serve as chief academic officer over FSU’s academic colleges, admissions, and the Lewis J. Ort Library.
