While many of West Virginia Governor Jim Justice’s regular COVID briefings have centered on other topics in recent months ranging from abortion, to tax cuts to school safety- this week the governor focused primarily on the pandemic. West Virginia’s COVID-19 hospitalizations are back to “reasonable levels”. While the state’s pandemic metrics have shown improvements in recent weeks, Governor Justice noted that members of the state’s most vulnerable populations continue to die.
