WCBC News was the first to uncover that grand jury charges have been filed against former Cumberland Police Captain James Burt.  The Allegany County grand jury brought the indictment on December 17th. The charges within the indictment have been sealed following a motion by Burt’s attorneys, which was approved by Judge Jeff Getty.  Tim Frye, the Maryland Special Prosecutor’s office Director of Investigations said his office cannot comment on the case.
