Data from the office of the Maryland Comptroller shows almost 8% growth in claims for Earned Income Tax Credits for tax year 2024, valued at $519 million dollars and a 5% increase in claims for the Child Tax Credit, totaling $9 million. This year, the office of the Comptroller launched the “Earned It” campaign to encourage eligible Marylanders to claim the credits on their taxes.  Plans are to continue and expand the campaign for next year.
