Tenants’ Bill Of Rights Released

Maryland’s Department of Housing and Community Development has announced the state has published what it calls a Tenants’ Bill of Rights, which will become effective on July 1. Secretary Jake Day says it is the first of its kind in the nation and must be included in all residential leases. Among the rights listed includes a first right of refusal to buy the rental from the landlord if they choose to sell or receives an offer on the property.
