You may have noticed a number of motorcyclists in the region this week. The Appalachian Thunder HOG Rally is underway with over 500 motorcyclists visiting Western Maryland. The event originally registered over 700 motorcyclists but due to the extreme heat and potential for thunderstorms this weekend a few have canceled. H owever, that hasn't stopped the majority of the group from enjoying over 50 scenic rides throughout the community visiting West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The event coordinators worked closely with downtown businesses, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, area hotels and Canal Place to host the rally. Poker stops will continue this evening in downtown Cumberland and the event ends Sunday.
