On Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, officers with the Cumberland Police Department observed a Ford Taurus fail to properly stop a stop line in the area of South Central Ave and Maryland Ave. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, Steven Michael Yetter, 45, of Cumberland MD, and two other occupants. During the course of the stop, a police k9 was utilized to conduct a free-air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle which indicated positive to the presence of CDS inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search, Yetter was found to be in possession of an amount of suspected crack cocaine and paraphernalia. As a result, Yetter was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. He was issued Criminal Citations for the offenses and released, pending trial in District Court.
ARRESTED - Michael Steven Yetter, 45yo.
CHARGES - CDS Possession – Not Marijuana, CDS Possession Paraphernalia.
