According to a new survey by Lending Tree, Maryland residents increased their debt balances over 10% in 2025, the highest nationwide. Total non-mortgage debt increased to just over $41,000. It’s a slippery slope seen across the nation, according to ABC’s Cheri Preston…
“18-and-a-half trillion dollars. That's how much Americans owed in the quarter that ended in September..that number, up nearly 200 billion from the previous quarter, and up four-point-four TRILLION since the beginning the pandemic. That number takes into account car loans, mortgages, credit card debt, and student loan debt.”
