Congresswoman April McClain-Delaney has introduced the Veterans Affairs Work Study Improvement Act, modernizing and expanding the VA work-study program for better outcomes. The program allows veterans to earn money while enrolled in higher education or vocational programs, but has gone years without an update. Delaney’s legislation expands qualified activities, permits electronic timesheet recording, and allows participants to be paid the higher between federal, state, or local minimum wage.
