A trip to Israel by Senator Mike McKay and three other Maryland legislators was questioned in an ethics complaint with the Maryland General Assembly. The Council on American-Islamic Relations filed a complaint calling the “50 States-One Israel” conference propaganda that violated ethics laws.  The General Assembly Ethics Committee sent notice to McKay that he has been cleared of any violations. The ethics committee had vetted the trip for the lawmakers beforehand…

   

“In the State of Maryland when it comes to the General Assembly, anybody can make any kind of accusations that they want. The reality is when there’s no smoke and there’s no fire, there’s no problem. Just as the letter states, there’s no violation.”
