On Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at approximately 12:05 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on N. Mechanic Street. A Police K-9 was utilized which resulted in a positive alert for the odor of drugs. A search was then conducted. The occupants: Timothy Elder, Mark Beaulieu, and Gwendolyn Ford were found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and arrested. It was discovered that Elder had an active Circuit Court bench warrant. The warrant was issued as the result of Elder failing to appear in court on an original charge of Burglary-4th Degree- Dwelling. Police also learned that Beaulieu had two active bench warrants through Allegany County. The warrants were issued as the result of Beaulieu failing to appear in court on original charges of CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana and driving on a suspended license. Elder, Beaulieu, and Ford were later seen by a District Court Commissioner for bond hearings and were held without bond.
