Governor Moore this morning declared a state of emergency for the State of Maryland and directed $10 million dollars to be distributed to food banks and food bank partners. The declaration comes in the wake of no solution amid a government shutdown that will see SNAP food programs not receive funds November 1….

 

“These funds will go to hundreds of institutions with experience distributing food at the regional level. And we are also providing support to local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, food kitchens, farmer’s markets, school pantries, and also mobile food units. We need to move quickly to make sure we’re getting the most support to those most in need.”
