As lawmakers in Washington D.C. continue to wrangle over President Trump’s spending bill, close attention is on those whose healthcare benefits may be directly affected. Rate increases for medical plans for next year are expected to be up to 20%, as well as some people losing access to low-cost and subsidized coverage. Western Maryland AHEC’s David Stewart tells WCBC it is hard to measure the impact of a more or less insured population…
“One of the ways you can look at the benefit of having a more insured population is your hospitals are doing okay. The ability to have good quality emergency care and hospital care is really impacted by having more people insured.”
