Allegany County Public Works Director Adam Patterson has worked several 20-plus hour days since the flooding of Lonaconing and Westernport. Now that waters have receded, the work begins to rebuild and improve those areas to prevent a similar disaster.  Patterson spoke at a county work session about hopes for FEMA disaster relief to help the county…

  

“I want to make sure that we continue to prioritize making sure that people have safe access to their homes in case of emergency whether you’re on a county road or not. It’s encouraging to think that the money – that we may qualify to be able to start making these permanent changes as opposed to just Band-Aids.”
