Maryland State Highway crews will be working along Route 36, New Georges Creek Road starting this week. The work is expected to last up to six weeks. Slope repairs will occur over the Route 36 bridge in Westernport as well as a retaining wall north of Midland. SHA Spokesman Charlie Gischlar tells WCBC some work needs done now, but other projects are planned…
“There’s a lot of those situations where there’s waterways and underneath of the bridges a lot of debris built up so we’re going to be kind of prioritizing and triaging everything. We have to get this erosion taken care of and then maybe return at a later time and clean from under the bridges any kind of wood debris that has accumulated.”
