Rolling Mill Update Presented by CEDC

Just before Christmas numerous local officials participated in a groundbreaking ceremony at the future Cumberland Gateway commercial development- but while it appears some activity is taking place- no significant construction has occurred. Commonly referred to as the Rolling Mill project- the planned plaza is located off of interstate 68 between Maryland Avenue and Park Street and it is expected to feature a hotel, restaurants, shops and a convenience store once completed. The developer- at that December event- told WCBC News that Verizon wants to locate a store in the plaza and the D’Atri family plans to move D’Atri Subs, currently located at 442 Columbia Street. The D’Atri family also wants to open a liquor store at the location.
