Silver bells are ringing across the region as the Salvation Army conducts its annual Red Kettle campaign. Locally, volunteers are still needed to work at collection sites until Christmas Eve. Lieutenant Risa Robinson of the Cumberland Salvation Army tells WCBC that about 1500 hours still need to be covered. Groups of two to four people can volunteer to ring bells for at least two hours. Lt. Robinson said money raised stays here…
“A good portion of what we make during Christmastime is what we use to help our community. So that’s why I’m pushing for volunteers to come out and help us because the more volunteers we have the more time spots I can cover and that’s more money I can get in the kettle to help the community.”
