U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia will face a primary challenge in 2026 for the Republican nomination.  State Senator Tom Willis launched his campaign in Berkeley Springs Monday.  Willis represents Morgan County and parts of Berkeley and Hampshire counties in the state legislature in Charleston.  Capito was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 and began her term in 2015. Prior to that, she served in the U.S. House of Representatives beginning in 2001.
