On June 5th, 2025 at approximately 1:42 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence on Sommerville Avenue, for an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim. The victim advised that during an altercation inside the home, they were bit and scratched by Arthur Lee Brown Jr. An officer was then able to observe injuries consistent with the victim's statement. The officer continued their investigation and reviewed video surveillance, Brown subsequently placed under arrest. He was transported to Central Booking and later seen by a District Court commissioner where he was remanded to Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
