On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of South Center Street for the report of a male sleeping near a building. Upon their arrival, Joseph Wood was observed sleeping amongst a pile of trash. Wood was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for littering and a civil citation for setting up bedding outdoors inside City limits. He was released pending his trial at the Allegany County District Court. 

ARRESTED: Joseph William Wood   AGE: 46       Cumberland, Maryland
CHARGES: Littering, Setting up Bedding (Civil).
